Sports

The sports industry in America will reach $75.7 billion by 2020. Sports has grown from a ticket-sale industry to include revenue from massive media-rights deals, merchandise sales, product-endorsements, and private sponsorships. Media-rights revenues alone are expected to reach $21.3 billion by 2020, and as merchandise sales expand to the female retail market they will rise to $14.5 billion. Social media and smart technology has driven up advertising prices as live-broadcasts are now more accessible. Subsidiary professions like sports management and medicine have also opened up lucrative opportunities. As a domestic market without much global competition, this industry will continue to grow.
